Common Questions
What is Edovo?
Edovo is a nonprofit organization that develops a digital platform delivering educational, vocational, and rehabilitative content to incarcerated individuals nationwide.
What problem does Edovo aim to solve?
The U.S. spends over $80 billion annually on corrections, yet a staggering 82% of incarcerated individuals lack regular access to educational programs. This neglect ignores a crucial fact: 97% of these individuals will reenter society. Without the necessary skills and tools to reintegrate successfully into society, many face an uphill battle, increasing their chances of recidivism and further straining communities and taxpayer dollars.
What is Edovo's solution to the problem?
Edovo is changing this reality on a large scale. We provide high-quality educational, vocational and self improvement programming to over 900,000 incarcerated learners nationwide, bridging the gap in correctional education and creating a clear path to reentry success. Through partnerships with major tech providers, our platform is accessible on all tablets in the majority of correctional facilities, guaranteeing continuous access to essential learning—regardless of policy or leadership shifts.
What does the Edovo platform consist of?
The Edovo suite consists of three applications: Edovo Learn is the incarcerated learner application offering over 25K hours of helpful content. Edovo Insight is the agency staff application used for managing learner performance. Edovo Editor is the content creator application empowering facility staff, community organizations and content providers to create digital curriculum.
How can I view a quick overview of the platform?

Why do you sometimes use AI images when representing incarcerated learners on your website?
All quotes, stories, and testimonials featured on our site and social media come directly from incarcerated learners—real words from real people. However, to protect their privacy and ensure safety, we often use AI-generated portraits in place of real photos.
What is Edovo's mission?
Edovo is dedicated to providing educational, vocational, and rehabilitative resources to incarcerated individuals, empowering them to build better futures and reduce recidivism.
Is Edovo a nonprofit organization?

Can I set up a recurring donation?
Absolutely! You can choose to make monthly, quarterly, or annual donations.
Why can't I find your form 990?
While Edovo has been around since 2012, we were originally founded as a social impact organization: Jail Education Solutions d/b/a Edovo. In 2024, we started the Edovo foundation as a nonprofit and shut down Jail Education Solutions. Our entire team moved to the Edovo Foundation to continue driving our mission with a philanthropic foundation.
Can I access Edovo post-release?
Yes! Through Edovo Go, you can continue your progress in Edovo for free after release. With Edovo Go, you can access your transcript and course certificates, resume any core coursework you started while incarcerated, and keep moving forward on your pathway to success.
How do I get access to Edovo Go?

Where can I find additional resources for reentry?
